Ryan Laughlin grew up outside Seattle in the small town of Maple Valley, WA. Ryan has been interested in music since he was a young child, first starting with drums, then pursuing guitar and vocals as a young adult. Ryan’s love of music continued to grow during college at Washington State University, where his first performance was at a small open mic in the basement of his dorm. Within a year he was playing at bars, coffee shops and university music festivals. Quickly becoming a crowd favorite, this was also where Ryan first began writing his own music. Inspired by his travels across country, tales of relationships (good and bad), overcoming tragedies - including life in Houston after Hurricane Ike - and observations of the human condition, Ryan’s music offers something for everyone.
Ryan has performed across the country at quintessential venues, spending time living in Seattle, LA and Houston and has opened for artists like Tyrone Wells, Matt Nathanson and Rooney. After a break from the music scene, Ryan moved to Omaha, NE in 2020 where he rekindled his love of music and performing. Deriving influence from favorite folk, pop, and country artists, Ryan creates a sound all his own with a large list of original songs that pull at your emotions, adding favorite pop and classic covers to fill the dance floor.
